Fort Javelin Shooting Camp

Fort Javelin's Youth Shooting Camp has been designed for youths 10 to 15 years of age as an introduction to firearm safety and shooting fundamentals. Our certified instructors will cover safe weapons handling procedures, general firearms knowledge, range safety, and the fundamentals of marksmanship. Our class will deliver a solid foundation to build upon and give your child the skills they need to become responsible shooters and safe gun handlers.

Course Details

  • Our next scheduled Youth Camp will be held in June 2020. 
  • If you'd like to setup a private youth class please contact us for details and arrangements. 
  • This 5-hour course provides both classroom and live-fire range time. 
  • All shooting activities are conducted with Fort Javelin provided .22 rifles, .22 pistols, and ammunition.  (If your child has a .22 rifle you'd like them to use for the class please notify us in advance)
  • Fort Javelin provides snacks and bottled water. Please send your child with a sack lunch.
  • To allow for maximum coaching and shooting activity time, each Youth Camp is limited to 12 participants. 
  • Course Fee: $85 
  • Age Requirements: 10-15 years of age

Course Schedule


  • 8:30-9:00 Drop-off & Introductions
  • 9:00-10:15 Classroom (Firearms Safety, Firearms Nomenclature, Gun-handling Exercises, and Marksmanship Fundamentals)
  • 10:15-10:30 Break/Snacks
  • 10:30-12:00 Live-Fire Range Exercises 
  • 12:00-12:30 Lunch Break
  • 12:30-1:45 Live-Fire Range Exercises 
  • 1:45-2:00 Certificate Award & Pickup
